Lisbon is the charming capital of Portugal, filled with UNESCO World Heritage Sites, ranked 4th in the 2018 Global Peace Index as one of the most peaceful nations in the world.

Officially the coolest capital in Europe after scooping two awards for Best City Destination and City Break at the World Travel Awards event in 2018, Lisbon is a city filled with cobblestone streets, eclectic arts and design, Gothic and Manueline-style architecture, terraced gardens, historic trams and remodeled palaces, and so much more.

While some destinations are visited for their activities, tourists are delighted by simply being in Lisbon as the entire city is an attraction in itself.

Campo de Ourique is located in the heart of the city and is a walking distance from central Marques de Pombal and Lisbon’s famous Avenida da Liberdade. The area boasts with a mix of late 19th century buildings mixed with Art Nouveau and small details of 20th century architecture. Centered around a lively market hall, the block-shaped streets of the neighbourhood are rife with a wealth of shops and restaurants and offer a feeling of an independent village hidden within the capital city.
